University of Guelph Associate Professor and G360 Principal Investigator, Dr. Jana Levison, was awarded the IAH-CNC Early Career Hydrogeologist Award announced this week in recognition of her leadership and engagement in the hydrogeological community. Dr. Levison is an active researcher in the areas of agricultural impacts on groundwater quality and quantity, impacts of climate change on hydrological systems, groundwater flow and contaminant transport in fractured geologic media, and source water protection for Indigenous and rural communities. Jana has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate students about hydrogeology and has supervised over 20 students as either primary or co-advisor, to date. In the hydrogeological community, Jana has served on major conference technical committees and as an Associate Editor of the International Association of Hydrogeologists’ Hydrogeology Journal and reviewer for water related grant applications. Jana’s impact on research and contributions to the field of hydrogeology are impressive and she has established research domains with new colleagues in a collegial and highly collaborative manner.
