Hugh Simpson has expertise in collaborative and interdisciplinary groundwater research and practice, the development and implementation of programs, projects and policies involving complex groundwater management problems, and experience in capacity building to help community organizations to participate effectively in multi-stakeholder decision making forms.
He obtained his Bachelor Honours in Geography at the University of Victoria and a graduate diploma in Waste Management and Groundwater Contamination at McGill University. After completing his graduate diploma, Hugh came to Waterloo where he obtained his Masters in Hydrogeology and Water Resources Planning at the University of Waterloo and his Doctorate in Geography, also at the University of Waterloo.
