With a Master of Science in Neuroscience and extensive experience in financial management, Samantha combines strong analytical expertise with a strategic approach to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. She brings a proven background in managing complex, multi-source funding portfolios, research finance, grant administration, and financial reporting within academic and healthcare environments.

Samantha’s strategic approach to financial management, compliance, and resource allocation has supported more than $40 million in operating, research, and endowment funds across multiple departments. Her experience strengthening internal controls, improving financial processes, and partnering with senior leadership, combined with her commitment to collaborative team leadership, will support the Institute’s continued growth, financial sustainability, and research impact.

Stephanie holds an MSc in Biology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where her research applied population genomics techniques to species conservation and fisheries management of kokanee salmon. Prior to and following her graduate work, Stephanie was involved in the monitoring and protection of biodiversity through DNA barcoding from 2004 to 2024 at the University of Guelph. She first developed expertise in implementing and optimizing high throughput laboratory workflows for the advancement of species identification, then transitioned to managing the molecular laboratory of the Genomics Unit at the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics.

Stephanie brings expertise and experience in team leadership, human resources, project management, research administration, communications, and inventory management to support the procurement needs of the Morwick G360 team
