Born and raised in Calgary, Patrick completed a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geoscience at the University of Calgary. His MSc thesis focused on groundwater and free-phase gas transport at a cold-water geyser, which he investigated using environmental geophysics. Patrick published his thesis in the journal Geofluids and is a coauthor of a publication in Applied Geochemistry.
Outside academia, Patrick worked as a hydrogeologist in the environmental consulting industry for four years. His experience includes numerical groundwater modeling and contaminated site assessments for oilsands and coal mines across Alberta and British Columbia.
Patrick began his PhD with MG360 in January 2025. He is eager to explore new field methods and numerical modeling techniques to advance his research. Patrick has a deep passion for geology and a keen interest in understanding the geological processes that control groundwater flow. He also enjoys leveraging coding to automate data tasks and work efficiently with large datasets.
