Facilities

BAFF field facility and laboratory technician sampling water

Morwick G360 operates three core facilities including an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory and a Physical Properties Laboratory. The Institute has also constructed and operates the Morwick Groundwater Research Centre for controlled field experiments, collaborations, and outreach learning opportunities.

Morwick Groundwater Research Centre

A major field research facility, the Morwick Groundwater Research Centre, is being established at the University of Guelph as part of Morwick G360. Located at 360 College Road, the Research Centre, which is situated on the main U of G campus on an important bedrock aquifer in the Grand River watershed, presents a unique opportunity for applied groundwater field research in a fractured bedrock environment right in our own backyard.

Laboratories

Morwick G360 operates two analytical laboratories on the main University of Guelph Campus in Alexander Hall. These labs are staffed by full-time, professional technicians and facilitate the analysis of rock, soil and water samples for organic contaminants using advanced techniques. Work conducted in these labs helps to further work associated with all the major research focuses of the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute.
